45" wide oh-so-soft and slightly crisp to the touch 100% pima yarn
dyed cotton poplin. Fine Fabrics cotton poplin is imported
Poplin is a plain woven fabric. Just a tad heavier in weight than our broadcloth, so it might
be a better choice for full Summer skirts.
One of my
favorite, and most worn skirts of all time was
made of a black poplin of just the quality Fine Fabrics sells here.
I bought it at Barbara Bowman's in Ojai, during a totally self indulgent
day of shopping for a landmark birthday. Barbara Bowman also had
a boutique on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills. The quality of this cotton fabric
far exceeds its price.
Pima is considered one of the best grades of cotton. Its namesake are the Pima Indians of the US Southwest, where it was traditionally grown. It is one of the best grades of cottons in the world. Pictured in Sunshine. Available in 24 classic colors, including black, out of which I may
re-make my Barbara Bowman skirt that I have worn to death.
